About the event
Child Health & Safety
Creating safer, healthier childcare environments.
Child Health & Safety is a practical, interactive 1.5-hour online professional development workshop for child care educators, supervisors, program leaders, and teams who want to strengthen daily health, safety, observation, and response practices.
Health and safety in child care is not one single policy or checklist. It is built through daily routines, careful observation, clear communication, and consistent decision-making by educators and leaders.
This workshop explores key areas such as daily health screening, hygiene and illness prevention, safe environments, active supervision, incident response, emergency readiness, documentation, and communication with families.
Participants will also look at how educators can recognize early signs of illness, injury, developmental concerns, or behavioural changes, and understand when further documentation, family communication, or professional referral may be needed.
