About This Workshop
Health and safety in child care is not one single policy or checklist. It is built through daily routines, careful observation, clear communication, and consistent decision-making by educators and leaders.
Child Health & Safety is a practical workshop designed to help child care teams strengthen the everyday practices that support safe, healthy, and responsive learning environments.
This workshop explores key areas such as daily health screening, hygiene and illness prevention, safe environments, active supervision, incident reporting, emergency readiness, and communication with families.
Participants will also look at how educators can recognize early signs of illness, injury, developmental concerns, or behavioural changes, and understand when further documentation, family communication, or professional referral may be needed.
Through practical examples and real child care scenarios, teams will build confidence in responding appropriately, documenting clearly, and supporting children’s well-being with consistency and care.
