When we think of January, we think of renewal. It's a month to refocus on wellness, celebrating the importance of nourishing both our bodies and minds. Children bring a fresh perspective to this renewal, with curiosity and creativity that shape how they explore and understand their world.

This month, our curriculum centers on vibrant health and colorful choices, introducing the “Rainbow Plate” concept to teach the value of diverse, colorful foods. Together, we'll explore how different fruits and vegetables contribute unique benefits, encouraging children to make thoughtful, nourishing choices.

Our January guide spans 56 pages, offering a rich, structured resource for educators and families. It includes:

  • A central theme or “Big Idea”: This month focuses on wellness and vibrant living.
  • 20 engaging, low-prep activities: Using everyday materials that are either recycled, collected, or on hand, including crafts, sensory play, and science experiments.
  • Daily scheduled activities: Carefully organized to support continuous engagement and development.
  • Creative and collaborative projects: These longer-term activities build confidence and teamwork.
  • Mindfulness and movement routines: Designed to nurture emotional and physical well-being.
  • Tips for home and classroom setup: Create inviting, child-friendly learning environments.
  • Connections across subjects: Integrating math, literacy, science, and social studies with creative learning.
  • Book recommendations: Emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and the celebration of healthy habits.
  • Parent Letter: Communicating the month’s activities, encouraging family involvement in meal preparation, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Printables and resources: Ready-to-use materials to support and extend learning experiences.
  • Monthly calendar and supply list: For easy planning and execution.

Through our January curriculum, your child will engage in a variety of activities that highlight our learning pillars:

  • STEM: Children will explore hands-on experiments, like building bridges or testing objects for buoyancy, to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Sensory: Tactile experiences such as sensory bins with natural materials, fruit juicing, and vegetable washing encourage exploration and fine motor development.
  • Academics: Activities like letter and number hunts, sorting, and simple science concepts are woven into play to support early literacy, math, and curiosity about the world.
  • Health & Wellness: Through interactive lessons on healthy eating, such as creating “Rainbow Plates,” making fruit salads, and cooking together, children will learn the importance of taking care of their bodies.
  • Inclusion: We celebrate diversity through stories, collaborative projects, and discussions that promote empathy, understanding, and community.

Thank you for being a part of this journey as we kick off the new year with vibrant and impactful learning experiences. This January, let’s focus on growth—exploring, creating, and thriving together in wellness. Whether in the classroom or at home, these activities are a step toward a brighter, healthier year.
